Shannyn Joy Potter

CIYT, C-IAYT

Shannyn Joy Potter is the founder of nkbyoga, which was started back in her art studio in 2009. She has been practicing yoga since the mid 90’s and teaching since 2010. She is a CIYT, a certified Iyengar yoga teacher and a C-IAYT, Certified International Yoga Therapist. She continues to study regularly with senior teachers, locally and abroad. Shannyn is grateful for the teachings of yoga and aims to help others find freedom from pain. She sees the practice of yoga as a means of transformation with the ability to change the mind, body and spirit in ways that are beneficial and accessible to all. From 2015 through 2022, she served on the board of IYAUM, Iyengar Yoga Association of the Upper Midwest as Media Chair.

William Prottengeier

William has been practicing and teaching Yoga for over 40 years. He started one of the first Yoga studios in the Twin Cities, the Minneapolis Yoga Workshop, in 1979. He made three trips to India to study with BKS Iyengar, and is a certified Iyengar Yoga teacher. He is also trained in the Raja Yoga, Vipassana and Vajrayana meditation traditions, weaving their teachings into his classes. William trains and mentors teachers and dedicated students. His classes are known for his humor and his depth of understanding.

Nancy Marcy

CIYT, C-IAYT, RYT-500, DAPE, M.Ed

A former physical education and health teacher, Nancy has been practicing and teaching yoga since 2000. She is drawn to yoga because it is a powerful healer, builder of community, sculptor of aesthetic space, and guide for ethical and spiritual development. Plus, it’s fun!

Mona McNeely

CIYT

Mona has been practicing Iyengar yoga since 2004 and became certified at the Introductory II level in 2015 under the mentorship of Momi Jung and Chris Saudek.  She continues her practice and enjoys studying with senior teachers.

She is also a fiber arts enthusiast focused on knitting and spinning.   She loves snowshoeing in the winter, kayaking in the summer, and spending time with her kids and granddaughter.
